We are pleased to announce that Fiber Profil has reached a new milestone in the development of advanced materials by obtaining the Bs1d0 certification—one of the most demanding European standards for fire performance in construction products, according to EN 13501-1 classification.
This achievement has been made possible through the work carried out within the framework of the IgniPUL project, developed in collaboration with Cidetec and supported by CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology and Innovation). IgniPUL has focused on the research and optimization of pultruded profiles with enhanced fire resistance properties, without compromising mechanical strength or structural stability.
The Bs1d0 certification guarantees that the materials developed by Fiber Profil offer outstanding fire performance. Fire behavior tests, conducted at Tecnalia—one of Europe’s leading technology centers—validated that these materials provide:
· Very low smoke emission in case of fire (s1),
· No flaming droplets (d0), and
· Excellent flame spread resistance (B).
These characteristics are particularly relevant in sectors such as railway, naval, construction, and public transportation, where fire safety is a top priority and strictly regulated.
Obtaining this certification not only validates the high technological level of our developments, but also opens new application opportunities for our pultruded profiles in environments where safety is critical.
