Fiber Profil takes part in the Working Group “New Materials – Innovating for More Efficient Navigation” held at Tecnalia
On Friday, July 11, Fiber Profil had the pleasure of participating in a new session of the Working Group “New Materials – Innovating for More Efficient Navigation”, hosted at Tecnalia, one of Europe’s leading research and technology development centers.
The event brought together companies, technology centers, and maritime experts with a shared objective: to promote the use of lighter, stronger, and more sustainable materials that help improve vessel energy efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize the environmental impact of the naval industry.
Throughout the day, participants addressed multiple key topics for innovation in the maritime sector, including:
· New advanced coatings,
· Applications of special steels for offshore environments,
· Naval outfitting solutions and shaft lines,
· Strategies for the end-of-life management of composite materials, such as wind turbine blades.
Fiber Profil’s participation in this forum reinforces its commitment to collaborative innovation and the development of solutions based on high-performance composite materials, such as pultruded profiles, which deliver clear advantages in terms of structural lightness, corrosion resistance, and sustainability.
These initiatives represent an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, identify synergies, and collaborate on the development of technologies that address the challenges of an increasingly demanding and evolving maritime environment.
We would like to thank Tecnalia for hosting the event and all participating organizations for their commitment and contributions. At Fiber Profil, we will continue working actively on the development of advanced solutions for more efficient, sustainable, and future-ready navigation.
